Cookies
a cookie is a small data file that Web sites commonly write to your hard drive when you visit them. These files are "encrypted" (you will see this word again) for your added security. A cookie file contains information that can identify you "anonymously" in order to track your behavior within our site. Gmbspc.com uses these cookies (preferably chocolate chip) as a way to measure activity within the site in order to continually improve your experience and keep you coming back.
Cookies attempt to make your browsing experience a whole lot easier because they become "friends" with your computer. This is the site where everyone remembers your name -- I mean, computer. The cookie does not identify you personally, but rather identifies your computer, so you are safe to navigate anonymously, while gaining access to the member specific areas without having to log in all the time.
Contrary to popular belief, a cookie cannot read data off of your hard drive or read cookie files created by other sites, but cookies may give you a tummy ache if eaten too close to your bedtime.
You are also given the opportunity to turn these cookies off if you wish to. FYI, most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your browsers to refuse all cookies or tell it to inform you of when a cookie is being sent. The drawback: your experience within our Web site will not be personalized, which is the most enjoyable way to appreciate our site.

Security
Gmbspc.com uses industry standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, such as firewalls and Secure Socket Layers, which "encrypt" or in more understandable terms, turn your information into scrambled eggs, so no one else can read it unless they are "all the kings horses and all the kings men" (Humpty Dumpty, get it?).
Survey Says . . .
Gmbspc.com uses surveys to help make the site more appealing to its users by collecting data with respect to their tastes, preferences, likes, needs and wants. The only way we can possibly insure that we are doing this is by gaining your personal input. Some of the information we collect may be shared with our advertisers on an aggregate basis, and in no way will it be disclosed on a personal basis.

And The Winner Is . . .
We are contest freaks here at Gmbspc.com. If there is something to give away, it's contest time! When you register to enter a contest, we may ask you for information regarding your e-mail address. Well, how else were we going to inform you that you just won that BRAND NEW CAR. We also collect demographic information so that we may evaluate where all of the contest addicts are and build a psychiatric clinic in the area, in order to rehabilitate them. Seriously, we use the information to make visiting our site easy and fun. If you do not wish to volunteer information, just say no and opt-out quietly. We also need to disclose that all contests are conducted in full accordance with United States federal and state laws. The full rules and all information about such contests are clearly posted during each event.
Surf's Up . . .
As a measure of user interest, we track the search terms that are entered into our site. We create aggregate reports on your demographics (which we explained earlier) and traffic patterns for our advertisers and partners. This allows our advertisers to advertise more effectively and allows you to receive advertisements that are most relevant to you (remember, suntan lotion, Siberia?). They need information like this to determine how effectively their advertising investment dollars are working.
